Extra Minty Peppermint Bark
The trick to this is to use Peppermint Hershey Kisses. I discovered this because I had lots leftover after making my Peppermint Mocha Cookies. Share on facebook Share on twitter Share on linkedin Share on pinterest Share on email Share on google “Peppermint. He placed it into the cup of hot water he’d taken from the coffee machine. Then he handed it to Nora. She had never drunk peppermint tea in her life. ‘That’s for me?’ ‘Well, yeah. It was the only herbal they had.’ He had a coffee for himself that Nora secretly craved. Maybe in this life she didn’t drink caffeine.” Matt Haig, The Midnight Library Tweet Delicious…

KimBees Tea & Berry Scones
Why have I always thought of scones as dry, crumbly, tasteless things that 18th century lords and ladies ate in their stuffy parlors? Goodness, these things are actually heavenly!! As a tea drinker, Behind Every Lie was a delightful change from all the coffee loving characters I’ve been reading about. Also, Kimbees Tea recently sent me some teas in exchange for an honest review. The timing couldn’t have been better! Their tea is rich and has a pure taste. I personally love the Spice Tea flavor but the Ceylon is everyday delicious! It is so tasty that I was inspired to make a tea glaze to drizzle over these scrumptious…

Screwdriver Orange Sticky Buns with Vodka Glaze
There wasn’t a lot of food suggested in Blindsighted but I love a challenge. As soon as I read the screwdriver quote, I knew that I would somehow be incorporating vodka, orange juice and a southern breakfast dish. Pecan sticky buns make me think of Georgia. And so, voila- Screwdriver Sticky Buns. I literally had to slap my husband’s hand away from the steaming bun to get this picture. He took one bite and declared this a Christmas morning tradition. Out of the blue, Sara said, “I want a screwdriver.” Jeffrey frowned at this but he walked over to his toolbox and rummaged around. “Phillips?” “No, a drink,” Sara answered.…

The Girl Left Behind Book Review ~A Modern Police Procedural
M William Phelp Crime Fiction, Suspense Thriller Conneticut, present N/A Book Review The Girl Left Behind 4.3/5 A teen girl goes missing from a small farm town in Connecticut. Detective Linda Kane is faced with finding Cassie despite the case triggering childhood memories of her best friend’s disappearance. The Girl Left Behind is intense at the start- descriptive, free flowing and fast paced. I had an immediate connection with the characters with whom Phelps spent a lot of time building depth. I’m very excited that Detective Kane could be a reoccurring character with her own series. Apparently, the full title is The Girl Left Behind (A Linda Kane Thriller, Book…

Caramel Cake Petit Fours
The Cake This is basically a pound cake with a few minor adjustments, including extra eggs. Eggs are the magical ingredient. Their job in this batter is to provide structure. When heated, egg proteins coagulate and give stiffness to the cake- all the better for shaping our little petite fours. Poured Fondant Icing Want to be alerted when I post new recipes?
