I am a self taught cook/baker and I believe that everyone can cook from scratch! I’m here with recipes and Nerdy Tips to help along the way. I review books, mostly ‘read’ via audio, and I create recipes inspired by the story lines. Dairy free Cauliflower Leek Soup
This soup is fall in a bowl. With cinnamon and chili powder spices, it’s automatic comfort food. It’s wholesome, healthy, gluten free and dairy free. It’s almost entirely vegetables and seasoning but at the same time it’s so creamy. Nerdy Hummus Dressing
This hummus dressing is the perfect topping for salads, brown rice, roasted veggies and so much more! Hummus is made mostly from chickpeas which pack quite a nutritional punch. This is a type of savory roll traditionally made in Mexico. This crusty hard roll is usually broken in half with the soft, fluffy insides (known as the migajón) removed- and devoured! Tate’s Spicy Sausage Balls
Coon Balls 1 lb hot ground sausage 8 oz sharp cheddar, shredded 2 cups flour 1 Tbsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt milk as needed Preheat oven to 350. Combine sausage, cheese, flour, baking powder and salt. Use hands to mix. Add milk as needed to get a slightly sticky consistency. Roll into golf ball sized balls and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. Creamy Dill Dip 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup greek yogurt 2 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped 1/2 tsp dried parsley 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder Mix all ingredients and chill for at least one hour.
