Mexican Hot Chocolate Sauce
I love chocolate on just about anything. This sauce is not only dark and decadent, it also packs deep flavor and spicy, back of the tongue kick. It’s absolutely perfect for late night snacking. Nerdy Tip don’t have a double boiler? Try using two mixing bowls with hot water in the bottom bowl. try dipping a fresh, warm Bolillo roll in my Mexican Hot Chocolate Sauce. Weird but delish!! Have you tried making these rolls or the hot chocolate dip?? I’d love to hear your feedback. Please comment and rate! Peace & love, jenni

The Empress Book Review ~ A Madwoman in Mexico
by Laura Martinez-belli 1866, Mexico Book Review 4.5/5 I knew I was going to love this book when it began with a cast of characters à la a Shakespearean play. Enriched with little known history and authentic persons, the dullness of centuries past becomes suffused with color, bright and alive. Somewhat reminiscent of Philippa Gregory’s works, The Empress is full of Mexican culture, international politics, power struggles and aristocratic manipulations. Though centurial affairs can be at times dry, there was never a lack of interesting storylines. Martinez-Belli kept the narrative thriving through her many characters, especially the regal Empress Carlota and her questionable lady, Constanza. I absolutely adore all things…

Mexican Bolillo Bread
This is a type of savory roll traditionally made in Mexico. This crusty hard roll is usually broken in half with the soft, fluffy insides (known as the migajón) removed- and devoured! The exterior shell is then used as a torta or to scoop up and hold other food. Nerdy Tip measure the temperature of your water for the best possible rise! try dipping a fresh, warm roll in my Mexican Hot Chocolate Sauce. Weird but delish!! Have you tried making these rolls or the hot chocolate dip?? I’d love to hear your feedback. Please comment and rate! Peace & love, jenni
